Best mountain town I've been to in a long time
Canmore just delivers on every level. The Bow River Trail is so easy to walk and the views of the Rockies are unreal. Friendly locals, good food, and the whole town feels relaxed without being boring.
Skiing here is seriously something else
We based ourselves in Canmore for a ski trip and it was the right call. Easy access to Nakiska and the drive up is stunning. Snow conditions were great and everything in town is walkable. Way less crowded than Banff too, which we appreciated.
Hiking in the Rockies from a great base
Stayed in Canmore for five days and used it as a base for hiking. The Grotto Canyon trail was a highlight - super accessible and genuinely impressive. Town itself has solid restaurants and coffee shops. Great spot if you want outdoors without the tourist crowds.
Gorgeous place, loved every bit of it
The mountain scenery around Canmore is just wow. Main Street has some really good places to eat and shop without feeling too commercial. We loved the Nordic Centre for cross-country skiing - well maintained and the trails are beautiful in winter.
Canmore in December is pure magic
Snow-covered peaks everywhere you look and the town is cozy without being over the top. We tried bison burgers at a local spot on Main Street and they were amazing. The whole area around Three Sisters mountain made for great photos every single morning.
A really solid mountain getaway
Canmore is a proper mountain town without the crazy prices you find in some resort areas. Good mix of outdoor activities and places to eat. The Bow Valley Trail loop is worth doing even just for the scenery. Felt safe and easy to get around the whole time.
